Nando’s is not a Halal brand and our company does not pay any fees for certification. However, our chicken suppliers all carry Halal certification and are bastings are Halal.

How we operate:
Our restaurant kitchens use two distinct cooking surfaces in the restaurant to cook chicken: the open flame-grill, commonly seen at the front of the restaurant; and a flat top grill, usually housed in the back of the kitchen area.
Bacon is only cooked on the flat top grill, therefore, any chicken on the bone products (quarter, half and full chickens) as well as grilled tenderloins and ribs are all cooked on the open flame-grill at the front of the restaurant and do not come in to contact with bacon on the cooking surfaces. These products are therefore all suitable to eat.
In addition, we’re more than happy for you to request the chicken for your burger, wrap, pita or salad to be cooked on this open flame-grill should you wish.
Throughout the day, our crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils are all properly sanitised in our restaurants.
To reduce the risk of your food coming into contact with bacon, we suggest mentioning to our friendly restaurant team that you would like your chicken to be cooked on the front open flame-grill. The team will be happy to work with this request.
